Wrap up of 24 posts
For me, writing isn’t easy. I struggle to find the words to write the lines. Each style of writing presents it’s own challenges. Knowledge based articles are about conveying knowledge to the reader, but there questions without answers. Who are they? what do they already know? What level of knowledge should be assumed? How much detail should I portray? Journals entries are different. Where’s the line for too personal? What kind of location information should be included, if any? Does the audience even care about topics like fitness, weight loss, and self improvement? The style of writing for personal content is different than knowledge based articles. They tend to be more learning oriented and experienced based.
The challenge of writing 1 post a day for 24 consecutive days was very hard. Ultimately, it was good for me. It forced me to make decisions, to ensure forward progress. Getting it done everyday was important. Was I successful? Mostly. I missed 3 days. I managed to write 21/24 posts. Not too bad, I’d say. One thing that bothered me, was having to publish before the article was ready. Several times the content wasn’t refined enough for public consumption. It often felt too rough. But at least I was publishing regularly. It was good for my website content. I don’t think I’d do it again next year. On the upside, posting weekly doesn’t seem so hard anymore.
