Submitting To Lonestar PHP
You may remember a few months ago, I wrote about wanting to become a public speaker. Up to now, I’ve limited myself to pitching talks to WordCamps. I hoping to change this in 2016. Branching out into the larger PHP community is the logical progression. PHP has a number of great conferences, each with it’s own flavor. One PHP conference I’m really hoping to get accepted at, is Lone Star PHP located in Dallas, TX.
Multiple people I’ve talked to, suggested it’s better to submit multiple talks. So I did just that. I submitted three talks to Lone Star PHP. I plan to do the same with every other conference I submit to. By the end of 2016, I’ll have a sense how effective this strategy is.
I haven’t attended a lot of conferences. This is another thing I want to do more of in 2016. Increasing my visibility, will hopefully play a factor in doing more conference speaking.
