Employment Campaign

I’ve been using the term “employment campaign” lately, and I like it. What is an “employment campaign”, you ask? Allow me to explain. There are many of us looking for our next job. It’s a tough market right now—not gonna lie. The competition is fierce, due to the layoffs of all the big tech companies over the last couple of years. The political climate in the US isn’t helping. Plus there’s the “AI strategy” that is being implemented by the big tech companies, intended to replace people with Artificial Intelligence (AI). It’s a trifecta of unfortunate circumstances, affecting so many people. It’s true that things can always be worse. It’s also true that the fit has hit the shan.

There’s a great quote by William James, an American Philosopher, that I find empowering. It goes as follows:

“The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes”.

– William James

Explanation of Employment Campaign

With that in mind, I’ve decided the term “job search” is outdated. I’m re-branding it. Instead, I’m on an “employment campaign”. The term employment campaign feels like a stronger term. I feel like it imbues you with a greater sense of purpose. It also sound way more bad ass than job search. Sometimes you need a little something extra, to get you through the process of looking for work. A change in how you think about something, can be just the thing that provides it.

How’s your employment campaign going? Stay strong. Keep fighting. You will get through this. Good luck!
